What is the Account Security Update for FiveM and RedM?
On June 24, 2026, the license identifier and license2 identifier will change for a small number of players before gradually changing for everyone else over the subsequent weeks.
Why is this update happening?
To improve account security and help prevent the use of compromised or stolen Rockstar Games accounts on FiveM and RedM.
What are the license identifier and license2 identifier?
The license identifier and license2 identifier are how FiveM and RedM servers recognize your Rockstar Games account.
Many servers tie your characters and progress to one of these identifiers. Depending on how player data is stored by individual FiveM and RedM servers, affected players may lose access to existing characters or progress.
What do I do if I lose access to my characters or progress after the update?
You can restore your characters or progress by setting a different linked identity as your default identity from inside FiveM or RedM. For instructions, see the following article:

How long do I have to update my default identity?
You will be able to update your default identity until June 24, 2027. After this date, you will need help from your server owner or their team to migrate your characters or progress.
