Question: What can I do if I see an error message like this when trying to connect to a server:
- Connection rejected by server: Client/Server game build revision mismatch: you are running game build [build number] revision 0, while server expects revision 1.
Answer: This error occurs when there is a revision mismatch between your local FiveM Client and the FiveM Server that you are trying to join.
This is usually a temporary issue that occurs when updates release. Once all the FiveM Client update branches have all the required changes to support the new build revisions and FiveM Server owners update to the latest artifacts, this error should no longer appear.
If the issue persists, you can try changing your FiveM Client update channel using the steps below:
Change the update channel on your FiveM Client
- Open the game
- In the main menu, select the gear icon in the top right corner of the FiveM Client
- Select Game
- Select the Update Channel that matches the server you are trying to connect to — Release, Beta, or Latest (Unstable):
- Release: The main stable update channel and the default channel when you download the FiveM Client
- Beta: The step before changes make it into Release. Changes in this channel are still in testing and may contain bugs
- Latest (Unstable): Also referred to as Canary, this channel is for testing experimental changes. Using this update channel is not recommended for players
- Restart your game for changes to apply
If the above steps do not work, reach out to the FiveM Server owner for assistance.
