Question: What’s required for a FiveM / RedM server listing, and what’s recommended to write for each requirement?
Answer: Below are descriptions of each server listing requirement, optional field, and best practices for filling them out.
Note: All text, links, and images submitted for your server must comply with the Rockstar Community Guidelines and the Cfx Creator Platform License Agreement
Name
The server’s Name is the primary title displayed to players on the server list. This field is required in your server listing.
Best practices for server Names:
- Use the official name of your community
- Keep the name clear and recognizable
- Avoid excessive symbols or decorative characters
- Avoid generic names that can affect server discoverability
The maximum length for a server Name is 40 characters.
Tagline
The server’s Tagline is a short phrase that summarizes your server. This field is required in your server listing.
Examples of good Taglines:
- “Serious Roleplay Community”
- “Build Your Criminal Empire”
- “Story-Driven Wild West Roleplay”
- “Competitive Horse Racing”
The maximum length for a server Tagline is 120 characters. Taglines do not require quotation marks.
Description
The server’s Description provides additional details about your server and helps players understand what makes it unique. This field is required in your server listing.
Examples of what to include in your Description:
- Server type
- Key features
- Community focus
- Gameplay style
- Important information for new players
An example of a good Description would be:
- “A serious roleplay community featuring player-run businesses, custom jobs, a dynamic economy, and active staff support.”
The maximum length for a server Description is 250 characters. Descriptions do not require quotation marks.
Language
The server’s Language defines the primary language in use on the server by the server’s community and staff. Listing a Language helps attract new players to your server by giving them information on servers where they can comfortably and easily participate. This field is required in your server listing.
Tags
The server’s Tags help players discover servers that match their interests. Players can search for servers using tags. Choose terms that clearly describe the experiences your server provides.
Good examples of Tags:
- “Roleplay”
- “Economy”
- “CustomCars”
- “CustomJobs”
- “PlayerBusiness”
Avoid duplicate (e.g., including both “SeriousRP” and “SeriousRoleplay”) or overly generic (e.g., “Server”) Tags, as these may make it harder for players to discover your server or understand its play experience.
Tags cannot contain spaces. The maximum number of Tags a server listing can have is five. Tags do not require quotation marks.
Banner Image
The server’s Banner Image is an image you can upload for your server. It is one of the first visuals players will see when viewing details of your server.
The minimum size for a Banner Image is 1825 x 200 pixels. The recommended size is 2560 x 280 pixels. PNG, JPG / JPEG, and GIF image file formats are supported.
Note: Any images uploaded that are larger than the recommended size will be scaled down to that resolution.
Best practices for Banner Image uploads:
- Use a high-quality image
- Keep important content centered in your image
- Avoid placing important text near the edge of the image
- Ensure the image accurately represents your community
Icon
The server’s Icon is an image you can upload for your server. It is displayed alongside your server in a server list and helps players quickly recognize your community.
The minimum size for an Icon is 256 x 256 pixels. The recommended size is 512 x 512 pixels. PNG and JPG / JPEG files are supported for all members, while Platinum-tier Element Club subscribers can upload GIFs as well.
Note: Any images uploaded that are larger than the recommended size will be scaled down to that resolution.
It is recommended to ensure that your Icon has not been overly compressed or distorted while meeting the size requirements before uploading it to your server listing.
Discord
You can enter a Discord server invite URL under the Discord section in your server listing. If provided, players can access your community’s Discord server directly from your server information page.
Custom or third-party Discord links are not supported. Only the following Discord link formats are accepted:
Ensure you are using a server invite link that will not expire in your server listing.
