Question: What can I do about my registration key leaking on GitHub?
Answer: If you have received an email saying your server registration key has been leaked on GitHub, it means your server registration key has been committed to a public GitHub repository by either you or someone you shared it with.
You can create a new server registration key for the server by doing the following:
Regenerate your registration key
- Visit the Portal Server Registration Keys page
- Select the Server ID of the server registration key you wish to regenerate
- Select Regenerate
- Select Yes
- Once regenerated, your server registration key is no longer at risk
- Replace the compromised server registration key on your server’s config file with the new one
