The FiveM error "_runReaderThreadTick" (also known as "low-apart-failed", "ink-dakota-mountain", "nevada-orange-lemon", and others depending on build) occurs due to a disk read error.
Disk read errors such as these can be caused by a few reasons:
- A recent system freeze/hang corrupting files on the system storage.
- An external (or internal) HDD/SSD disconnecting.
- A partial/incomplete game install. FiveM requires GTA V to be downloaded fully to run.
For most of these causes, verifying your GTA V game files (as described on Rockstar Games' guide - GTAV PC General Troubleshooting – Installation Issues, Crashes, Freezes, Poor Performance) will help. If this still occurs despite verifying all GTA V installs on your PC, you may be experiencing hardware issues.
